1. Sift together: flour, baking soda and the salt. Set aside.
2. Cream butter.
3. Add sugar, brown sugar. Blend.
4. Add eggs and vanilla. Blend.
5. Stir in dry ingredients and mix thoroughly. Cover, chill at least 2 hours or overnight.
6. Wrap 1 tbsp of dough around chocolate wafer and place on ungreased cookie sheet, 2 inches apart.
7. Top with walnut half and bake for 9-12 minutes at 375 degrees.
