1. Marinate chicken overnight in the dressing, garlic, and onion.
2. Remove chicken from marinade and set marinade aside for later use.
3. Melt butter in skillet over medium heat and brown chicken.
4. When chicken is browned thoroughly, pour marinade over chicken, cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
5. Remove cover and reduce liquid (with chicken still in it) until it forms a thick, sticky sauce that coats the chicken thoroughly.
6. Remove from heat and serve over steamed rice or noodles.
